Why I Love California National Park Elopements

California’s national parks hold a special place in my heart. From the rugged cliffs of Yosemite to the desert magic of Joshua Tree and the towering redwoods of the northern coast, these parks create the most incredible backdrops for your love story. Whether it’s the golden hour glow or the stillness of a misty morning, each park offers something unforgettable. I’m here to help you find the perfect spot for your “I do’s.”

My Favorite Parks for Your Dream Elopement

Yosemite National Park

Yosemite has majestic cliffs, serene meadows, and cascading waterfalls. It’s a place where every corner feels like a fairytale, and I’ll help you find those hidden gems that make your photos truly magical.

Joshua Tree National Park

If you’re into desert vibes and starlit skies, Joshua Tree is the place for you. There’s something so otherworldly about its unique rock formations and endless landscapes—it’s a photographer’s dream and a couple’s perfect getaway.

Redwood National Parks

Imagine standing hand-in-hand beneath the world’s tallest trees or exchanging vows with the coastal breeze in your hair. The redwoods have a way of making every moment feel timeless and sacred. Consider Sequoia National Park or Kings Canyon National Park

The giant sequoias in this park make you feel like you’ve stepped into a storybook. It’s an awe-inspiring place to celebrate your love with the grandeur of nature as your witness.

How I Capture Your Day

Every couple is different, and your love story deserves to be told in a way that feels uniquely you. My approach is relaxed, fun, and rooted in the little details that make your relationship unique.

I bring a mix of digital photography for precision and sharpness, 35mm film for its romantic, nostalgic feel, and Polaroids for instant moments you can hold immediately. Imagine walking away from your elopement day with beautiful Polaroid memories to pin on your fridge or slip into your wallet—talk about instant magic!

Eloping in a national park comes with challenges, like permits, park rules, and finding the perfect ceremony spot. Don’t worry—I’ve got you covered. From scouting hidden gems to helping you navigate logistics, I’m here to make the planning process seamless so you can focus on what truly matters: your love.

Sneak Peeks with a Personal Touch

I know how excited you’ll be to relive your day, so I love including Polaroids and 35mm film sneak peeks. As you take in the beauty of your elopement, I’ll hand you a few Polaroids right on the spot—memories you can hold and treasure immediately while I work on your full gallery.

Stories from the Heart

Some of my favorite moments have happened while photographing elopements. Like that time in Yosemite when the bride and groom danced barefoot by the Merced River as the sun set behind El Capitan or the adventurous couple in Joshua Tree who brought their dog and ended the day stargazing in the desert. These stories fuel my passion and remind me why I do what I do.

Why Book Your 2025/2026 Elopement Early?

National park elopements are becoming more popular yearly, and my calendar fills up fast. Booking now ensures your date is reserved, and we can start dreaming up the perfect adventure for your day. Whether it’s a sunrise hike, a sunset ceremony, or a cozy campfire celebration, I’ll capture it all. TIP:- Plan your elopement 3-6 months in advance; permits take 2-4 weeks, and Airbnb books up quickly. Be sure to consider the time of year, holidays, and allow for extra time, crowds and entrance to all parks take very long ( 30 mins to one hour waiting in lines)

A Few Tips for Your Elopement Adventure

  • Pack Smart: Comfortable shoes, layers, and hydration are key!

  • Embrace the Unexpected: Some of the best moments come from the unplanned—a little rain, a wildlife sighting, or a spontaneous dance can turn into unforgettable memories.

  • Be Present: This is your day. Soak it all in, laugh, and leave the rest to me.

Let’s Create Something Beautiful

Your elopement isn’t just a day—it’s a story, a feeling, a celebration of everything that makes your love unique. I’d be honored to be part of it and to document every laugh, tear, and kiss along the way.

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s bring your 2025/2026 elopement dreams to life!
