Riverside Wedding Ceremonies" Weekday vs. Weekend at Thee Old Chapel: Which is More Affordable?"
Downtown Riverside, California, is a hidden gem for couples looking to tie the knot in a location brimming with history, charm, and scenic beauty. Whether you're planning a large ceremony or an intimate elopement, Riverside, California, offers a variety of venues that cater to every style and budget.
In this blog, we'll explore the pricing options and the differences Thee Old Chapel offers. Throughout my Riverside, CA, wedding photography career, I have photographed many Ceremonies and Portraits, big and small, at this beautiful historical chapel owned by the County of Riverside CA.
Thee Old Chapel in Riverside, California is a charming venue for ceremonies. With its quaint charm and serene atmosphere, this historic chapel is ideal for micro weddings and elopements.
Built in 1927, The Old Chapel exudes vintage charm with its stained glass windows, wooden pews, and classic architecture. It's a beautiful venue for couples who appreciate history and simplicity.
You will find information through the management company that runs Thee Old Chapel on the weekends!, and if you are looking to book it out on a weekday, you will find the information on the Riverside County's Court because it is owned by Riverside County and run by the city in the week. However, getting married there on the weekend through the management company is priced significantly higher.
Booking your wedding during the week can result in substantial savings, making it an excellent option for budget-conscious couples.
“Thee Old Chapel” in Riverside, California, has limited outdoor portrait locations, but I can accommodate you if you choose not to go anywhere else for your portraits. We can also do a little adventuring and incorporate urban-style imagery by walking and or hopping in a car throughout downtown Riverside. Be sure to bring some comfortable walking shoes. I promise it will be fun.
Let's break it up into Weekday vs. weekend ceremonies at Thee Old Chapel.
Weekday Weddings: Through Riverside County—Your fee is $120 for 30 minutes with up to 40 guests on Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. They usually give you an hour total to capture your family photos before they close it. It also depends on whether they have another booking after your session.
“Weekday ceremonies are more suited to elopements, civil ceremonies, intimate events, and couples wanting a stress-free elopement or civil marriage shared by a small group of loved ones. You can find all the information for a weekday ceremony HERE. If you want more imagery, contact me to view a full gallery.
Weekend Ceremonies: The management company holds weekend weddings (Friday through Sunday). Your fee is $1,500 + a cleaning fee of $250. Rental time is 2.5 hours with up to 180 seated guests ( on the pews). The time slots are only 10 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm.
The significant difference is time and guest count, so this could be a choice for larger-scale guests, longer ceremonies, and time for family photos in the chapel. You can find all the information for a weekend ceremony HERE. You can also see the agreement here, which gives you pricing. If you want to see more imagery, contact me to view a full gallery.
Both price options are quite different, making determining what's right for you easier.
I've had many opportunities to photograph and document ceremonies at “Thee Old Chapel”, including Downtown Riverside. Each option isn't necessarily better than the other; it simply depends on your choice and what suits you as a couple for your day of celebration. And whatever decision you make, I am there for it! I believe in celebrating you, YOUR WAY!
